Do you know what is an eyeprimer ?
hi guys.. ❤ ❤
Today i am going to tell you about eye primers. Most of the girls who are new to makeup doesn’t know about eye primer. So i decided to tell you guys about the uses of eye primer and why to use it.
Eye shadow primer are often a multi purpose products, the most important purpose of an eye primer is to give an eye shadow is staying power.
Some people find that creases appear in their eyeshadow during the day. These creases are the result of movements of the eyelid that are the result of simply blinking and normal eye movements. Eyeshadow primer works to keep these creases from appearing and can also help to boost the vibrancy of the eyeshadow color.
Eye Primer is especially important to people live in warm or humid conditions. The condensation of humidity or sweat on the eyelids can cause eyeshadow to crease, move, and even run, and using a primer can keep this from happening. The product can also be important for people who like to wear very dramatic eyeshadow, which, if smudged, can go from looking beautiful to messy in the blink of an eye. By simply keeping the eyeshadow in place, primer eliminates this problem.
Most kinds of eyeshadow primer comes in either a tube or small tub and are applied either with a brush or with a wand with a soft end. A concealer brush can be used to apply eyeshadow primer or you can even use your fingers to blend it into the skin. Although there are slight variations in the colors of eyeshadow primers, most of them come in different shades that blend in with most skin tones. This is because the purpose of eyeshadow primer is not to accent the eyelids with color, but to prepare the eyelids for eyeshadow that will serve that purpose. Primers can come in different shades that blend with skin tone. White primer is often used to make eye shadow shades more vibrant.
Some women simply use their foundation or foundation primer as an eye shadow base and find that it works just as well, but foundation or makeup primers usually just help make makeup application smoother and more even. Eye shadow primer helps eye shadow adhere to the eyelid, stay in place, and also prevents creasing.
Here are five reasons to consider using an eye shadow primer.
1. Eyelid Prep
Eye shadow primer is used to prep the eyes for eye shadow. It makes the eye shadow stay for longer period and makes the eye shadow easier to blend, providing a smooth canvas to apply eye shadow and to help it stay in place.
2. For Even Skin Tone
Eye shadow primer is used to even out skin colour and discolorations. It’s helpful for those with darkened or discolored eyelids, which is often hereditary. Eye shadow primer can also cover visible veins.
3. To Intensify Colour on your eyelids
Eye shadow primer can make pigment stand out and look more vibrant. Some shadows, especially powder formulas, appear lighter than they look in the palette. This is often a problem on deep skin tones. Primer can help you achieve more colour.
4. Skin & Makeup Barrier
Primer also acts as a barrier between the skin and makeup. This is good for oily skin types because it can keep oil from the skin away from the eye shadow, helping to prevent eye shadow from fading or smudging.
5. To Prevent Creasing & Smudging
Primer is useful in hot, humid weather to keep eye shadow from fading or smudging. It also helps prevent creasing from normal eye movements.
Difference between a Eye Shadow Primer and Eye Shadow Base :
An eye shadow base is usually thicker and is mainly used to intensify colour and make eye shadow adhere to the eyelid. Some eye shadow bases don’t prevent creasing or fading, although there are some products that are formulated to act as both a primer and a base. Some women and makeup artists use a primer first and then follow with an eye shadow base.
How to Apply Eye Shadow Primer
- Apply a small amount of eye shadow primer onto the entire lid with your fingertips, blending up and out towards the brow. Also try to apply as close to the lash line as possible.
- Using a concealer brush or base brush, blend evenly.
- You can also use primer under the eye if you are adding a line of eye shadow colour underneath the lower lash line.
- Let the eye shadow primer set for a minute or two before applying eye shadow.
Although the primer has a slightly wet consistency, it dries quickly once it is applied. In order to make sure that it dries correctly, the cosmetic should be applied in a thin, even layer. Once it has dried, there is a smooth, even surface that will accept eyeshadow well and will work to keep it in place.
Short and simple:
Spending all that time and effort on your eye makeup will be tossed to the wind unless you have a good base underneath to keep it vibrant and lasting all day long.
Eye Primer goes wherever you’re going to apply eyeshadow (eyelid, brow bone, lower lash line) it’s purpose is helping eyeshadow to last throughout the day, better color pay off, less smudging and creasing.
